Tree Removal

Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary.

A-1 Tree and Stump Service can help decide whether or not a tree should be removed. If our customer makes the decision to remove their tree, A-1 Tree and Stump Service has the skill and equipment to safely and efficiently do so. Whether the whole tree can be cut to fall at once, or if each limb and piece of material must be handled with ropes and pulleys, we are the tree service to handle any tree! We also do all shrub, bush, and hedge removal.

Tree removal is recommended when the tree:

• Tree is dead or dying.
• Is considered irreparably hazardous.
• Is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through tree pruning.
• Is crowding and causing harm to other trees.
• Is to be replaced by a more suitable specimen.
• Should be removed to allow for new construction.

Tree Pest Control

Do you have sticky or sappy leaves, small bore holes in the bark or leaves, discoloration or deformities in any of the tree parts?

Pest such as aphids, adelgid, borers, beetles, caterpillars, galls, leaf miners, spider-mites, weevils, etc…, can be prevented and/or controlled by systemic injections of a chemical called Merit. The Systemic Injection is so effective because the chemical is picked up from the roots of the tree and distributed throughout the entire structure of the tree. Many species of trees are susceptible to pest that be eradicated and prevented using this method. Samples can be taken from the leaves, twigs, branches, roots, stems, needles, cones, wood, bark, soil around the trunk of the tree, etc…, to obtain an exact causal agent.

Tree Trimming, Pruning, and Shaping

First and foremost, determine what type of pruning is necessary to maintain and improve the health, appearance, and safety of your trees.

You should never top certain species of trees; this will lead to multiple problems and hazards in the future, that is, if the tree survives! Different species of trees can endure different trimming methods as well.

Reasons for pruning or trimming a tree:

• Eliminating branches that rub or crossover each other.
• Removing limbs that interfere with wires, building facades, gutters, roofs, chimneys, windows, or those that obstruct streets or sidewalks.
• Removing dead or weak limbs that pose a hazard or may lead to decay.
• Removing diseased or insect-infested limbs. Limbs that are weak or decayed are more vulnerable to insect and pest.
• Creating structure to lessen wind resistance and reduce the potential for storm damage.
• Training young trees.
• Removing limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions.
• Thinning or removal of branches to increase light penetration.
• Improving the shape or silhouette of the tree.
